MICHAEL C. WATSON PRESENTS...

Word Person by Anna Lonas Husain

You have a full vocabulary Of excuses And explanations Words fly from your mouth Meaningless and dull As the tarnished nails In a poor man\'s toolbox For you are poor in spirit Though you try so hard To speak of love and strength You cannot even convince yourself Of your own self worth Hiding behind words, throwing out phrases Desperate attempts to remain sane And superior To turn everything into a complex And complicated state of affairs Editing life and conversation as you would a book Displeased with authors, slashing plots I see through the wall of words I see that you are not happy And never will be, but I am not your chosen lamb To bleed for sacrifice, I am not Your token sinner to burn in the town square For your ego salvation I am nothing but a person who is done With your nothingness of words That run like vomit from your lips That never cease That separate us Words you will never see past Or be free of You will go to your grave With never a loss for words But having lost everyone And everything else. 2008 Anna Husain
